Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) MSME Scheme

As of 2026, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) offers a comprehensive range of schemes categorized by their primary objective.

1.Credit and Financial Assistance

  • Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP): A credit-linked subsidy scheme for setting up new micro-enterprises. Manufacturing projects up to ₹50 lakh and service projects up to ₹20 lakh are eligible for subsidies ranging from 15% to 35%.
  • Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro & Small Enterprises (CGTMSE): Provides collateral-free credit for loans up to ₹10 crore (increased from ₹5 crore in 2025).
  • Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY): Offers loans up to ₹10 lakh in three categories: Shishu (up to ₹50,000), Kishore (₹50,001–₹5 lakh), and Tarun (₹5 lakh–₹10 lakh).
  • Self-Reliant India (SRI) Fund: A ₹50,000 crore fund-of-funds aimed at equity infusion for MSMEs with high growth potential to help them list on stock exchanges.
  • Credit Guarantee Scheme for Subordinate Debt (CGSSD): Specifically for stressed or NPA MSMEs, providing subordinate debt to promoters.

2.Technology & Infrastructure Development

  • MSME Champions Scheme: An umbrella scheme focusing on competitiveness through three components:
    • MSME-Sustainable (ZED): Certification to encourage "Zero Defect, Zero Effect" manufacturing.
    • MSME-Competitive (LEAN): Assistance for implementing lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste and increase productivity.
    • MSME-Innovative: Combines incubation, design support, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) awareness.
  • Micro & Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP):Supports the creation of Common Facility Centers (CFCs) and infrastructure development in industrial estates.
  • MSE-GIFT & MSE-SPICE: Launched under the RAMP programme to promote green investment and a circular economy.

Skill Development & Training

  • Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (ESDP): Provides training to youth to encourage self-employment and new enterprise creation.
  • A Scheme for Promoting Innovation, Rural Industry & Entrepreneurship (ASPIRE): Sets up Livelihood Business Incubators (LBIs) and Technology Business Incubators (TBIs).
  • PM Vishwakarma: Provides end-to-end support, including credit and skill upgradation, to traditional artisans and craftspeople.

Marketing & Export Support

  • Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) Scheme: Assists MSMEs in participating in domestic and international trade fairs and exhibitions.
  • International Cooperation (IC) Scheme: Reimburses costs for MSMEs participating in international exhibitions and holding international conferences.
  • Public Procurement Policy: Mandates that 25% of annual procurement by Central Ministries and PSUs must come from MSEs.
